Medical tests and test givers pretty much only look for the normal deviation from the normal normality & chronic illness is no friend of normality.

Yeah the tests that diagnose you aren’t going to be the first round of a general blood test, or the first x ray. Sometimes it takes multiple tests, each normal result pushing to another test that eventually gets it. OR!!! You have to get every test related to your condition just to be diagnosed with a syndrome as a diagnosis of exclusion and no good treatment beyond “uh, exercise, I guess.” from your doctor. :/
